Nine Mile Trail Map

Google Maps.jpg

Nine Mile has over 10 kilometers of trails that wander beside the nine mile creek.

Next to the parking lot is a small chalet and fire pit that's great for group gatherings.

The trails are 18-20 feet wide and set for classic skiing, skate skiing, snowshoeing or walking!

Dogs off leash are welcome! We ask that you keep your dogs under control - and clean up after them if it affects the ski tracks.

You can find us approximately 10 kilometers west of Slave Lake along Highway 2. Turn south (left) at birch road (RR 73). The parking area is 500 meters off the highway at the end of the road.

TRAIL DESCRIPTIONS

One of our beginner trails. It's flat and curvy

Grizz

This trail has a steep entrance and exit to the loop. When you get up the incline, the bulk of the trail is flat.

Bobcat

Coyote

More intermediate of a trail with lots of smaller hills. If you've ever been on a small rollercoaster, that would be Bobcat

One of our favorite runs! Do it clockwise off the box. Gentle elevations and long downhill cruising.

Wolverine

Mostly intermediate. Try it, you'll like it... Counter-clockwise has a long steady incline to the back corner, where it rollercoasters out to the top of the box trail.

Trapper

Intermediate / Expert trail. Do this trail counter-clockwise. The start and finish hills are steep. Don't be ashamed to walk them, sometimes we do... The long stretch on the other side of the creek is great for all fitness levels and abilities. Have a break at the 'Tea Spot', it has a great view and seating.

Box Trail

This trail is the original logging road from the 50's. It serves as the backbone section for all loops. Majority of the trail is flat, with small sections of elevation change. From the lower entrance of coyote, the box to the top has the prettiest section of the forest.

WHAT WE DO

The trails are maintained by volunteers with the use of the LMC Snow Cat from the old Grizzly Ridge Downhill ski area, which provide wide packed trails to enjoy.

Volunteers clear brush, mow the trails and set tracks!

Tracks are set to the side for cross country skiers, which provide plenty of room for your dogs, snowshoeing and hiking.

All the trails are clearly  marked along the way with details maps. This allows you to plan out your route for the day and give peace of mind you haven't gotten lost!

Volunteers make these. Look for them along the trails.
